Former Test cricketer Bazid Khan highlighted how slow approach by Pakistani batters in the last three overs cost their team.
Mohammad Rizwan was nearing his second T20I century as Pakistan could score something over 200 in the final T20I of five-match series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi on Monday.
Rizwan adopted the game of singles and doubles as Pakistan could only score 28 runs in the last three overs. However, the right-handed batter also couldn't complete his century and Pakistan managed to get 193-5 in 20 overs.
Following the slow approach of Pakistani batters in the twilight phase of the innings, Khan, who was commentating at that moment, highlighted the flaws.
"Pakistan need to look at few things. In the last three overs, they scored just 28 runs as they slowed down. Last over was comical and we have seen that rarely in T20I cricket," he said during the post-match pitch side show.
The cricketer-turned-commentator also gave the example of Eoin Morgan who once got upset with Dawid Malan who took a single in the last over to complete his century.
"Morgan is one of the most successful T20I captains. He once got upset with Malan when he took a single to complete his century. He told him that the latter lacked intent," he referred.
It must be noted here that Mark Chapman, who switched playing from Hong Kong to New Zealand in international cricket, scored his maiden T20I century to help the Kiwis chase down 194 runs with four balls to spare.
Chapman remained not out for 104 runs as New Zealand drew the series 2-2. The left-handed batter smashed 11 boundaries and four maximums during his stay at the crease.
